NYC Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday March 23rd 2007
Tiffany rushed towards the coffee table in her living room and picked up the ringing telephone. "Hello," she answered as she wiped the tears from her cheeks. She still couldn't believe that Blake had just left her Bleecker Street apartment angry after he broke up with her during the most difficult time in her life. Until Starlene called a few minutes ago she had thought her sister was missing. Blake got impatient with Tiffany when she turned down his advances because she was 'too stressed out.' "Hi Tiffany, it's me again," Starlene said. "Oh thanks for calling again Starlene," Tiffany said sniffling loudly. "Do you have a cold?" "No, it's not a cold," Tiffany said as her voice broke in pain. "What's the matter with you?" "Blake was here when you called a few minutes ago," Tiffany said sniffling loudly. "I know, you told me. That's why I'm calling you back so we can talk," Starlene said as she sat down in the lounge chair on the balcony of her hotel room in Florida. "He broke up with me," Tiffany said sobbing as she wiped the tears from her cheeks and took a seat on the sofa with the phone in her hand. "I'm sorry Tiffany. What happened?" "I'm not sure Starlene. I think he was upset because I wouldn't come over to his apartment and spend the nights while you were gone." "Why didn't you?" "I was hoping you would call me. I was worried." "I'm sorry. Do you want me to talk to him for you?" "No, I don't think that would do any good. He says it's my jealousy too," she said as she wiped tears from her chin. "I'm sorry honey." "Oh its okay, everything is much better now that I know you're alright." "I'm sorry I've caused you problems." "No, it's okay. You've been through so much Starlene. I shouldn't have worried so much. But you're my sister," Tiffany said as her voice started to break up again. "I'll come home soon. Do you want me to come home now?" "No, if you're having fun in Florida then I don't want to spoil your fun. What are you doing there?" Tiffany asked as she wiped her eyes and took a deep breath to gain control of her emotions. "I got a hotel room and I watched the news. I thought the FBI and everybody would be looking for me," Starlene said clearly disappointed. "Abe wouldn't allow any publicly," Tiffany said referring to her sister's high-powered divorce attorney that she'd become romantically involved with soon after hiring him to represent her in the divorce from her multimillionaire cheating husband Matt Bronson. "No publicity? How the hell did he think he'd find me?" "He said it wouldn't really help anything." "He doesn't care does he?" "I think he does." "Who would know it the way he's been acting." "Starlene, what could Abe do? I told him that you said you were fed up when you left here. So he thought you had just taken off for a while. It looks like he was right." "Great, so nobody even cared." "Starlene, I've been worried half to death over this." "I'm sorry honey. I just had to get away. I wanted Abe to worry. I told you I'd call you and I did." "Yeah, but it was days Starlene." "I said I was sorry." "Okay. Please let's don't fight. I've had enough. Tell me what you've been doing and when you're coming home."
